In the past decade, owner Kenneth has operated two award-winning Thai restaurants, Royal Thai and Grand Pattaya, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Before opening thai basil in Toronto, he sought various opportunities of restaurant experience and enhancements - searching for original Thai art pieces and fine hand-made dining ware, certifying at the highly regarded hotel, The Oriental: a Bangkok cooking institution... and best of all, he met the respectful Chef Nuk and invited the professional crew during his trip in South East Asia.
